The opening of the Francophonie Festival will be held on the Saturday 7th March 2020 at Crawford College Pretoria. The opening of the festival will play host to a number of Embassies and High Commissions from Francophone countries, all presenting their culture, food and music through several stands and concerts. A French Spelling Bee Competition will also feature.

This day also marks the beginning of several cultural evenings organised by francophone Embassies and High Commissions. Every evening will be hosted at the Alliance Française Pretoria, inviting different countries to be discovered, and to celebrate the vast diversity of all the francophone countries in the world.
